
Sulam serves 230 students in from Jerusalem,
Beit Shemesh and surrounding areas, in 6 branches
which house 25 classes. These frameworks provide
a supportive and secure atmosphere, and comprehensive
educational and therapeutic programs that cater
to their complex needs, thus helping them overcome
developmental handicaps and look forward to a
brighter future.
In viewing the child's holistic needs, the program
includes individualized paramedical therapies
as well as treatment for emotional / behavioral
challenges as well as social services for the
families.
In order to promote the children's successful
inclusion in society, Sulam operates sensitivity
awareness workshops for Israeli teens. |

Physical Therapy:
Tones muscles and prepares the child for basic motor
functions such as sitting, crawling, standing, walking,
running and climbing.
Speech and Communication
Therapy:
Enables healthy communication by arousing the desire
to communicate, strengthening facial muscles to enable
speech and teaching communication skills: emotional
expression, vocabulary and language comprehension.
Occupational
Therapy: 
Promotes healthy sensory integration, improves fine/motor
coordination, balance, body awareness and other goals.
Multi-sensory
Therapy:
Encourages sensory balance, relaxes hyperactive children
and conversely arouses apathetic children.
Music Therapy:
Enables non-verbal communication in an enjoyable way.
Zoo Therapy:
Builds up self-confidence through responsibility, and
helps acquire emotional skills.
Art Therapy:
Encourages self-expression and improves motor skills
while treating emotional difficulties. 
Hydrotherapy:
Improves muscle tone, encourages free movement and boasts
self-image.
Play and Drama
Therapy:
Encourages self expression and emotional release.

Hot, nutritious lunches are provided, as well as an
exciting and educational afternoon program in a safe,
supportive environment.

Sulam offers a day camp program on vacation days that
feature fun and educational activities.

More than a change of pace and a learning experience,
these trips bring children with Special Needs in contact
with the outside world.

Organized by Sulam's staff of social
workers and volunteers, this program aims to help family
members cope and accept the special child as part of
the family. The program helps parents and siblings discover
the love and satisfaction that come from devoting themselves
to the needs of the disabled child.
