A new building for Afikim
Afikim, one of Sulam's branches services 118 girls ages 6 - 17 with various disabilities. Many of these girls have suffered neglect, trauma and multiple placement breakdowns and have a high level of need. A number of girls have been victims of sexual abuse.
For the last 17 years we have been providing the students at Afikim with a comprehensive educational framework, as well as an intense therapy program.
The students look upon Afikim as their “home away from home”, and have begun their path to emotional healing and academic achievement.
The school is located in Jerusalem in a municipally owned building and the present facilities are cramped, uncomfortable and unsuitable.
Sulam has begun the process of building new facilities to accommodate our students' growing needs. The building will be built by the Municipality of Jerusalem and partially funded by the Ministry of Education. It is up to Sulam to raise the remaining $1,400,000 for this vital project.
Help us give our students the facilities and environment they need so badly in order to climb their personal ladder to success.
